
My Story
Dr. Natalia Stakhanova is the Canada Research Chair in Security and Privacy and a Professor at the University of Saskatchewan. She previously served as the NB Innovation Research Chair in Cybersecurity at the University of New Brunswick. Her research focuses on developing secure and resilient systems, with contributions spanning network security, software protection, and code attribution. She is the author of more than 70 publications and holds four patents in computer security.
Dr. Stakhanova is the Chief Research Officer of the Honeynet Project, a global cybersecurity organization, and a member of the Canadian Cross-Cultural Roundtable on Security (CCRS), advising the Minister of Public Safety Canada and the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada on national security and public safety issues. She also serves as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing (TDSC) and IEEE Transactions on Network and Service Management (TNSM).
Her work has been recognized with numerous awards, including being named one of the Top 20 Women in Cybersecurity in Canada, the CyberNB Recognition Award, the McCain Young Scholar Award, and the Anita Borg Institute Faculty Award.
